Key Influences in my work have been the anti-form movement and “The Fold” by Giles Deleuze. By creating and recreating coloured papier-mâché structures in my practice, I explore the infinite nature of the fold as outlined by Deleuze. Alongside this, is the use of ironic humour; utilising ‘useful’ objects in conjunction with these structures. For example, an open umbrella sheltering a papier-mâché structure. I have also been creating drawings and paintings of these, which resemble the rock drawings of John Ruskin. More recently, I have experimented with the staging of the papier-mâché structures using coloured lights in an ambient room.
